The clinic was established by Mr Benn Boshell to raise the standard of care for people suffering from plantar fasciitis and other foot conditions.

Treating foot pain is our interest but helping people feel better is our passion. We are passionate about giving you the best level of care possible and this is what drives us to be the best at what we do. We believe in the importance of building trusting relationships with each patient. Experience has taught us that the foot is very complex and most patients require a very thorough assessment to achieve the correct diagnosis as well as additional time to learn about their condition and discuss a comprehensive treatment plan. This is exactly what we provide. We deeply care about your journey in getting back to doing the things you love most and resolving your problem.

Our expertise

Mr Boshell is a foot & ankle specialist with vast experience treating a wide range of foot & ankle problems. Plantar fasciitis and heel pain is Mr Boshell's specialist interest and since he graduated in 2010, there have been many changes in the understanding and treatment options for plantar fasciitis and other causes of heel pain. He takes pride in keeping up to date with the latest research and treatment developments which is one of the reasons that has enabled him to be the best at what he does. He is continuously learning and reviewing published literature in his field and is also actively in contact with a wide network of professionals around the world which is a great resource for information and exchange of ideas. Whilst we can't promise to make you pain free (and no other ethical professional should) what we can promise is to give you the very best standard of care available and together, we will give you the very best opportunity to improve your pain and get you back to doing your favourite activities.

A little more about Mr Boshell
After graduating from the University of Southampton in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry he started his first job as a podiatrist working for the NHS in Greenwich, London. After gaining experience, he was able to progress to a new post for the NHS as a Musculoskeletal Specialist Podiatrist and part of the podiatric surgery (foot & ankle surgery) team based in Portsmouth. He has also previously worked as part of an NHS podiatric surgery team in Buxton, Derbyshire. In 2015 he joined Hatt Health & Movement Clinic, Wiltshire & Somerset as Podiatry Head of Service. Responsible for running the podiatry department, developing gold standard treatment pathways for a wide variety of foot & ankle conditions and mentoring other podiatrists within the team. He left this role in 2020 to launch The Heel Pain Expert clinic.
Throughout his career he has continued studying and gaining additional qualifications in his field and completed his Masters degree in Podiatric Surgery at The University of Brighton in 2016. He has an extended scope of practice which means he is able to offer additional expertise and treatments than those provided by most other providers. Some examples include the ability to refer and interpret diagnostic imaging tests (x-rays, ultrasound, MRI). and performing ultrasound guided advanced therapeutic injection therapies. He was one of first podiatrists in the UK to provide extracorporeal shockwave therapy and have vast experiencing using this to treat plantar fasciitis and other causes of heel pain. Mr Boshell is an independent prescriber which allows him to access and prescribe prescription only medicines for the benefit of his patients.
Mr Boshell created a youtube channel in 2012 which offers practical demonstrations of exercises and other educational tips and advice. He is author of the book 'The Plantar Fasciitis Bible'' which is aimed at educating health professionals and heel pain sufferers on the causes of plantar fasciitis and options to treat it.
Mr Boshell is the host of The Heel Pain Expert Podcast, which is developed for other health professionals so that they can keep up to date with the latest developments and research on plantar fasciitis and heel pain. He has also been invited to speak on other colleagues podcasts about heel pain and share his expertise.
